CONVENTION UPDATES

Thanks to the generosity of sweet , I'll be going to Fanime and sharing a table with her at the Artist Alley!

I'm going to be there Friday~Monday but I'll only be in the AA from Friday to Sunday. I'll be selling these things again; [link] and also some animal/kitty ear hair accessories and MAYBE one print if I can make it.

I'll be cosplaying as:

FRIDAY - MisaMisa (DeathNote)
SATURDAY - Tenten (Naruto Shippuden)
SUNDAY - Rinali Li (D.Gray-man)

so I shouldn't be too hard to spot in the AA. XD I most likely won't have much to sell but come drop by and chat and say hi!

will also be in the AA too so be sure to go check out her stuff too!!

The next convention after Fanime that I will attend will be Anime Expo. I'll be in the Artist Alley also

WELL. WHAT CAN I SAY.

DeviantArt - quite frankly, I think it's the place where heaven and hell meet.

Conceptually, it's awesome--a place where artists can showcase their art, promote their own work, keep track of other amazing artists they find, give and receive feedback, meet and make new friends, sell prints, keep in touch, make a name for themselves--and all within the sense of community that such a place brings.

Sadly, for each truly talented individual that you can find here on DA, you'll also find ten more art thieves, tracers, flamers, desperate attention whores etc and whatnot each. Why can't art simply attract more art and people who appreciate good art?

Every time I get drawn back to this place, it's because I find someone with an amazing talent, and *cough* it's actually THE ORIGINAL artist who possesses the account and is uploading their art, be it a gorgeous CG, a traditional painting, or a breathtaking photo.

Yet, every time I get disgusted by this place is when I find yet another art thief, a tracer, or someone who just doesn't understand why "heavy referencing" cannot be considered art, that or the corrupt DA admins and mods cracking down on an artist angry at having their art stolen instead of the member who is stealing the art. And mind you, I'm so inactive on these parts that I'm not even TRYING to find these things. But they're everywhere-- they're unavoidable. And that's just sad.

Given such circumstances, it's no wonder I leave DA more often than I come back. For those amazing artists who have shared your talents, I thank you. For those thoughtful and considerate souls who have left not just their intelligent feedback but their friendship and support with me, I thank you.
For those rampant art thieves, self-indulgent tracers, obstinate copycats, unjust autocrats, and the ignorant masses--I abhor you. You are a plague upon this community.

I say my goodbyes now, so when the time comes that I truly leave this place for good, the harshness will be less acute.

Y hello thar~

It's high time that I took the time to thank each and every one of you who've taken the time to look, view, +fav, and most importantly comment on my art and cosplays here....

It's amazing how you guys still continue to do this although I'm not very active on DA anymore. I'm really, really sorry that I can't reply to each and every one of you anymore like I used to a long time ago, but I can truthfully tell you that your words and gestures are really, really appreciated and they mean much more to me than you can know.

So, if I don't drop a comment back on your page or reply to all you kind folks out there...I'm not being a snob, really, just really busy (and lazy), your kindness is what gets this artist the motivation and inspiration to continue on this path. The art world wouldn't be what it is without you guys, because secretly every artist is an insecure, self-doubting, closet attention whore. LOL.
